Daylight is a new standalone kitchen island developed to meet the competing challenges of lifelong use and the changing needs of our increasingly dynamic lives. This new product embodies the focus of the Space Theory kitchen system on creating innovative, premium-quality cooking and socializing spaces with a new level of flexible, built-in functionality, while making them simple to design and put into use.
SPACE THEORY
Daylight Island
Daylight is a unique product in a thinly populated field. Even though islands are a central component of many kitchens, there are very few sophisticated islands available on the market as standalone pieces. As we become more mobile and want to make our homes more beautiful and functional with less effort, this becomes particularly appealing.
SPACE THEORY
Daylight Island
Daylight is an open, flexible concept based on a 24" grid of welded steel. The grid-like structure enables a range of playful configurations of drawers, drawer fittings, appliances and specialized storage units designed specifically for this island.
SPACE THEORY
Daylight Island
Daylight is designed to be a “visually clear” workbench, so you can see where everything is and reach it easily, but an aesthetic structure is provided by the design of the individual components into each bay—keeping things looking good. Configurations do allow a balance of open and closed bays, if desired.
SPACE THEORY
Daylight Island
Using the Design Engine, Daylight can quickly and easily be configured to contain from two to five bays. Each bay can be specified with a range of components so that it is tailored to your needs.
SPACE THEORY
Daylight Island
Flexible in both length and the components within the grid, the Design Engine allows precise control of the options and pricing in real time as changes are made.

The drawer division and accessory system is interchangeable with the Space Theory kitchen system program. The stainless-steel system of storage trays used in the drawers are made from cutoffs created during the fabrication of the sinks used in the Space Theory line.
